Terms of Use

  1. Outline of the LUGGAGE-FREE TRAVEL Service (hereinafter referred to as “LFT”)

    1. Outline of the Service
      “LFT” shall mean the service for delivery of large-size luggage of foreign travelers visiting Japan between major airports and lodging facilities (hereinafter referred to as “LFT Agency”) by using online procedure.
    2. Entity Who Provides the Service
      LFT is a service which is made available by JTB Corp. (hereinafter referred to as “we/our/us”) as a service provider thereof in cooperation with Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. We shall intermediate transportation service for your luggage to Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., and Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. will provide the transportation service.
    3. Contract for Transportation of Luggage
      A contract for transportation of luggage (hereinafter referred to as “transportation contract”) shall be separately executed directly between you and Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., and the “TA-Q-BIN Terms and Conditions” of Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. shall apply to the transportation contract.

      In transportation of luggage, Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. will comply with the "Concerning the Handling of Personal Information" separately prescribed by Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. To handle your personal information.
  2. Delivery Information and Registration of User Information
    In using the Service, you are required to register the following information:
    1. Delivery Information
      You will register the locations between which your luggage is to be transported, the time and date of your consignment, the size and number of luggage.
    2. User Information
      You will register your name, mail address, password, cell phone number (optional), representative person’s name with the check-in date or flight number, and the credit card information to be used for payment.
    3. Password
      A password is required to view your registered delivery information or past usage history. You agree that you are responsible for any use and management of your password and that we are in no way responsible for, among other things, your fault in use or any third party's unauthorized use thereof.
  3. Procedures for Use of the Service
    1. Registration of Delivery Information
      On the LFT dedicated website which we operate, you will search and check the locations between which your luggage is to be transported, the time and date of your consignment and those of our delivery as well as our fees, and then register delivery information on the website.
    2. Registration of User Information
      You will register your user information necessary for the transportation.
    3. Notification of Registered Details
      After the completion of the registration mentioned above, you will receive from us your registered details and QR code/booking number by mail.
    4. Consignment of Luggage
      When consigning your luggage at the registered airport, hotel or the like, you will show your QR code or booking number to a LFT Agency staff. You will, with your LFT Agency staff and by using your LFT Agency’s dedicated terminal, confirm the dangerous items or the like which are not eligible for transportation, as well as your delivery information. Following the confirmation, you will receive a printed copy of your customer voucher from the LFT Agency staff.
    5. Payment
      After the completion of your consignment of luggage, you will pay applicable fees with your credit card registered in advance. After the completion of the payment procedure, you will receive an email notification from us.
    6. Notification of Completion of Delivery
      Upon the completion of the delivery of your luggage to the location specified, you will receive an email notification from us about the completion of delivery.
    7. Receiving Your Luggage
      Please show your customer voucher to receive your luggage.
    8. Luggage Eligible for Transportation
      Luggage eligible for transportation is limited to suitcase(s) as well as luggage packed with corrugated cardboard carton box (ex), each of which should be within the size and weight limitations prescribed separately.
  4. Notices to Users
    We will notify necessary information to you from time to time by posting on our LFT dedicated website, sending an email or other means that we deem as appropriate. Each notice becomes effective at the time of such notice by us.
  5. Restrictions on Users
    1. Under the Service, only a guest of hotel is eligible for transportation of luggage to or from said hotel. Please note that a hotel of which you are not a guest may refuse to receive your luggage delivered if you designate said hotel as a delivery location.
    2. You may not, without prior consent of us, transfer or lend your right to enjoy the Service to any third party.
    3. In using the Service, you may not engage in any of the following acts:
      • -An act which infringes or violates or is likely to infringe or violate any copyright, property right, right to the privacy or other right of any other user, third party or us;
      • -An act which does not fall under the immediately preceding paragraph, but which causes or is likely to cause any disadvantage or damage to any other user, third party or us;
      • -An act intended for profiting from or in connection with the Service without our approval, or an act of preparing therefor;
      • -An unauthorized use of any login ID or password. An act of using or providing any harmful program such as computer virus in connection with the Service;
      • -An act of sending or posting any information by impersonating any third party;
      • -An act of using the Service by means not authorized by us;
      • -An act of copying or sending any information obtained from the Service for any purpose other than your own personal use or an act of allowing any third party to use the Service in any way without our approval; or
      • -An act which violates or is likely to violate any law or regulation or which we deem as inappropriate.
  6. User Information
    1. Use of User Information
      We shall provide Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. with your registered information and information necessary for providing our transportation service, and use them to the minimum extent for providing the Service, basically without disclosing to any third party. Provided, however, that we may share your information in any of the following cases:
      • -In the case where we have your consent to share your user registration information;
      • -In the case where we are required to disclose such information by law or regulation;
      • -In the case where we share statistical information (such as non-personally identifiable information) collected for analyzing usage statistics of the Services;
    2. Change to User Information
      In case of any change in your user information, you shall promptly reflect the change via online procedure. We are in no way responsible for any difficulty in or damage related to your use of the Service due to your failure to reflect the change in your registration information or any error in the information.
  7. Contract
    1. Formation of Contract
      The contract to use LFT service shall be deemed to be concluded between you and us at the time when you register your transportation information and user information through the LFT dedicated website we operate and you receive the notification of registered details from us. We shall intermediate the transportation of your luggage to Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., based on the registered details. However, if you did not consign your luggage at the place and the date and time as specified in the registered details, we are in no way responsible for the transportation of your luggage. In that case, no payment of service related fee or cancellation fee are required.
      At the time when you consign your luggage to our LFT Agency after final confirmation of the registered details and fees and then receive a customer voucher, the contract shall be deemed to be concluded.
      Each transportation contract will be executed directly between you and Yamato Transport Co., Ltd., and we will intermediate the contract. After the formation of transportation contract, cancellation may be subject to a cancellation fee.
    2. Response to Accident in Transportation of Luggage
      Any delay, damage, loss or the like arising after your consignment of your luggage to our agency and before the delivery to your intended delivery location will be addressed in accordance with the following TA-Q-BIN Terms and Conditions of Yamato Transport Co., Ltd.
      Please be aware that in some cases, we may be unable to deliver your luggage on your desired drop off date, delivery date or time due to traffic conditions in the event of bad weather (e.g. heavy snow and typhoons, etc.)Delivery delay within 24 hours is not eligible for compensation.

  8. Deletion of Delivery Information and User Information
    Under the Service, you can, at your discretion, delete your delivery information and/or user information.
    Request for such deletion will be accepted in accordance with the procedures separately prescribed by us. In case of your violation of these Terms or your unauthorized or illegal use of the Service, or in case where we deem that true and correct data have not been registered, we may remove your registed information without advance notice and also may refuse your use of the Service in the future.
  9. Inquiries
    1. Inquiries about LFT in general
      Our call center will respond to your inquiry via chatmail during the following time frame and in the following languages available as posted on our LFT dedicated website:

    2. Inquiries about Transportation of Luggage
      LFT Support Center will respond to your inquiries about transportation after your consignment of your luggage to our LFT agency and before your receipt at the delivery location. The phone number for inquiries will be informed to you on the customer voucher which you receive at the time of your consignment of luggage.

  10. Matters on Your Own Responsibility
    In using the Service, you shall be responsible for your own activities, any activity made with your email address, and all results thereof regardless of the existence or nonexistence of your negligence. In using the Service, if you cause damage to your counter-party or any third party, you shall, at your responsibility and expense, resolve any dispute with such third party.
  11. Environment and So on for Use of the Service
    In using the Service, you shall, at your own responsibility and expenses, prepare all necessary communication device(s), software, public network and so on as your environment. We are in no way responsible for any difficulty in using the Service caused by such environment or any effect arising therefrom.
  12. Change to System Details in Relation to the Service
    If we deem that it is necessary to make a change to any system or details in relation to provision, operation or registration of the Service, we may make necessary changes without prior notice.
  13. Discontinuation or Suspension of the Service
    We may, without advance notice, discontinue or suspend the operation of the Service in the event of any of the following cases, Provided, we are in no way responsible for any damage incurred on you:
    • -In case of regular or emergency system maintenance for the Service;
    • -In case where normal provision of the Service becomes impossible due to war, riot, disturbance, industrial dispute, earthquake, eruption, flood, tsunami, fire, power failure or other state of emergency; or
    • -In case where we otherwise deem that temporary suspension is necessary for the operation of the Service.
  14. Protection of Personal Information
    We will appropriately protect personal information registered by you and comply with the "Privacy Policy" established by us.

  15. Amendment to these Terms
    We may amend these Terms without your consent. In such case, the revised "LUGGAGE-FREE TRAVEL Terms of Use" shall apply as the terms and conditions for your use of the Service. Unless otherwise specified by us, the revised Terms come into effect as of posting on our LFT dedicated website.
  16. Claim for Damages
    In case where you cause damage to us and our company group due to your act contrary to these Terms or your unauthorized or illegal use of the Service, we may claim reasonable damages (including attorneys' fees) from you.
  17. Courts with Jurisdiction
    In case of any dispute between you and us in connection with the Service, you and we shall resolve it in good faith. In the event that such dispute cannot be resolved through mutual negotiation, the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court shall have competent and exclusive agreement jurisdiction over such dispute.
  18. Governing Law
    These Terms shall be governed by and construed and applied in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  19. Effective Date of these Terms
    These Terms come into effect as of April 1, 2019 (Japan standard time).
